In order to maintain a professional atmosphere of learning, mutual respect, and safety while allowing for freedom of expression students and faculty will abide by the following code of dress.

Students and faculty will be allowed to wear clothes that do not distract from the learning process.
Students and faculty will be allowed to wear clothes that express themselves as long as they do not disrupt our environment of safety, respect, and professionalism.
Students and faculty will wear clothes that conform to health code regulations (i.e. cleanliness, bare feet, etc.)
The following attire will not be allowed:

  • Clothing that refers to smoking, drugs, alcohol, or other illegal substances.
  • Clothing with racist, sexist, or intolerant language and/or imagery.
  • Clothing with language and/or imagery of a sexual nature.
  • Clothing with gang language and/or imagery.
  • Clothing with language and/or imagery of an explicitly violent nature.
  • Clothing that reveals undergarments or the body between the bottom of the shirt and top of the pants.

Consequences:
  • Offending persons will be required to change clothes immediately or be sent home.
  • Repeat offenses will result in an official warning.

Given MC²’s commitment to preparing its students for future careers and our frequent interaction with the public, Governance Council believes it is important for all MC² community members to be mindful of the image they convey. Therefore, MC² is defined as a professional environment.

In order to further define the parameters of appropriate dress for the MC² environment, the Community has identified the following as appropriate or not:
